LIABILITY INSURANCE FOR CASC/ACSS MEMBERS

Please note that Liability Insurance will be available for purchase starting April 1, 2025.

For the upcoming year, June 1, 2025 to May 31, 2026 we have confirmed with our Insurance Brokers that our rates will remain the same as last year. CASC/ACSS looks forward to keeping these rates as low as possible – with the best coverage. Our advantage is the number of members who have joined our plan – it has given us the ability to negotiate excellent group rates!

CASC/ACSS does not accept responsibility or liability for any actions or misconduct of any Member. Each Spiritual Care Practitioner, Psycho-Spiritual Therapist, or any other Member of CASC/ACSS in the practice of professional spiritual care or professional counselling should consider the value of both Professional Liability and General Liability Insurance.

A lawsuit, whether justified or not, could drain the financial resources of your spiritual care or counselling practice. Individual misconduct is the sole responsibility of the Spiritual Care Practitioner, Psycho-Spiritual Therapist, or Member of CASC/ACSS. Membership does not, in any way, imply culpability or liability on the part of CASC/ACSS for any individual’s misconduct, unethical behaviour or criminal actions.

CASC/ACSS provides an affordable “Group Insurance Program” for our Members, consisting of Professional Liability and Commercial General (Third Party) Liability. This year we are pleased to confirm that is being extended to include the option of Property Insurance protection.

Liability Insurance is available through CASC/ACSS membership and includes two types of insurance coverage: 

  1. Professional Errors & Omissions Insurance (Claims Made)    Errors and Omissions Insurance
  2. General Liability Insurance (Occurrence) Included when Professional Liability is purchased.  Commercial General Liability Insurance


Member Liability Insurance

1.   Errors & Omissions Insurance Coverage Includes:
    • $5,000,000 Per Loss Limit
    • $5,000,000 Per Policy Period
    • $100,000 Penal Defense Coverage
    • $0 Deductible Per Loss
    • $10,000 Therapy and Counselling
    • 2-year Extended Reporting Period (Run-Off)
    • included Teaching Extension (if applicable)
2.   General Liability Insurance Coverage Includes:
  • $2,000,000 Each Occurrence Limit
  • $2,000,000 Products and Completed Ops Aggregate Limit
  • $10,000 Medical Payments (per person)
  • $500,000 Tenants Legal Liability
  • $1,000 Deductible Per Loss
2.   General Liability Insurance Coverage Includes:
    • $2,000,000 Each Occurrence Limit
    • $2,000,000 Products and Completed Ops Aggregate Limit
    • $10,000 Medical Payments (per person)
    • $500,000 Tenants Legal Liability
    • $1,000 Deductible Per Loss


Student Member Liability Insurance

    • $2,000,000 Per Loss Limit
    • $5,000,000 Per Policy Period
    • $100,000 Penal Defense Coverage
    • $0 Deductible Per Loss
    • $10,000 Therapy and Counselling

CASC/ACSS Property Insurance Summary

Insurance offered through CASC/ACSS renews on June 1.  Members who wish to join our program and have existing coverage that ends before this date will be accommodated by means of a special extension. Please contact the National Office for details.
